FEATURES

  • Grade 5 Performance: Designed to attach similar or dissimilar metals, Teks Select fasteners have strength and ductility performance similar to Grade 5 Bolts. These characteristics in the fasteners load-bearing area improve resistance to shear failure due to wind and other loads requiring mechanical flex (ductility).

  • Twice as Fast as Nuts and Bolts: Installs in half the time required for nuts and bolts. Replaces four installation steps with one.

  • Selective Hardening: The drill point and lead threads are hard (HRC 52) enough to drill through steel. The load-bearing area remains soft (HRC 28-34) enough to remain ductile and resist hydrogen assisted stress cracking.

  • Climaseal ACR: Climaseal Advanced Corrosion Resistance coating enables Teks Select to out perform other selectively hardened fasteners in a 5% neutral salt spray.

  • Quick Start Drill Point and Efficient Self-Tapping Thread Design: These features combine to enable Teks Select to drill and tap up to 40% faster than other selectively hardened, drilling and tapping fasteners.

    These features also enable Teks Select to drill and tap with fewer stalls than other selectively hardened fasteners.

STEP 1:
A standard screw gun with a depth sensitive nosepiece should be used to install Teks. For optimal fastener performance, the screw gun should be a minimum of 4 amps and have an RPM range of 0-2500.
STEP 2:
Adjust the screw gun nosepiece to properly seat the fastener.
STEP 3:
New magnetic sockets must be correctly set before use. Remove chip build-up as needed.
STEP 4:
The fastener is fully seated when the head is flush with the work surface.
STEP 5:
Overdriving may result in torsional failure of the fastener or strip out of the substrate.
STEP 6:
The fastener must penetrate beyond the metal structure a minimum of 3 pitches of thread.
